Hello Everyone, It's the final week before Spring Break! We've got a great week planned. Here are some of the details. In math, we took the ch. 10 test today. I was very pleased with the students' performance! Overall, the class averaged 89%. Thank you for the help you've given your students at home. Tomorrow and Wednesday, we will be reviewing chapters 7-1o in preparation for the 3rd Benchmark test. That's a lot of math to review, but after sending practice tests home each day last week, I think they're going to do well. Chapter 11 begins customary measurement, so that will be an interesting change from all the fractions and decimals. :) In language arts, we're reading a story selection about Jim Thorpe, football star and American Olympian. We will be reviewing fact and opinion in literature and the spelling words use the prefixes mis-, non-, re-, and pre-. We will also be practicing multiple-meaning words for vocabulary. It's time to buckle in and encourage your student to study for the Great Utahn Test. Students who score 100% on this test (including spelling) will receive a special award at the 4th grade program.
