Welcome to a new week! I really enjoyed meeting with you last week. Our class will have 100% conference attendance after Wednesday. Thank you!! Our field trip is coming up this Wednesday, 10/9. It appears that day will be chilly, so make sure to dress your child appropriately. We will be outside all day. If you have not yet filled out a Permission Click form for your child, please do so. (You may scroll down to the end of last week's post to find that Permission Click document. Please note that at this point all students must bring a lunch from home if you didn't specify a school lunch in Permission Click by last week.
Math- We will be finishing up with Ch. 3 this week. It looks like our test will be taken next Monday, 10/14. I will send home the 3 page chapter review pages to study this weekend, so keep an eye out for that. We won the weekly Reflex Cup trophy this week!! Tell your students to keep going with their math facts on Reflex. Double digit multiplication and long division will be here in November! Language Arts- Our story selection this week is titled “Coyote School News”. We will be focusing on drawing conclusions, and similes and metaphors. The Reading Street spelling words will be plural words. Make sure that your students are completing their assigned Lexia minutes and studying their spelling and vocabulary words. Please keep an eye on the due date for this term's book report. You can find information about book reports under the "Curriculum" and "Language Arts" tab. Science- We will be continuing our work with motion and Newton’s Laws. On Thursday this week, I’d like to have an outdoor activity during science between 2-3. I could use 2-3 parent volunteers to help guide the activities. Email me if you’re available. Utah History- We will be continuing our study of Utah’s 3 Regions. It’s almost time for us to make our salt dough maps. I need each student to bring in an 8x10 piece of sturdy cardboard with a notch cut out (in the shape of Utah) and some pre-made salt dough by Friday. We will be making our topographical maps on Friday, they will dry all weekend, and then we will paint them on Monday. Below is a great recipe, or use one that you like. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/240641/salt-dough/ Thanks for everything! Email with any questions.
